The final count
The final count begins at the County Administrative Board on the Monday after Election Day.
There all the votes are counted again including the number of preference votes for each candidate.
For parliamentary, municipal and county council elections, the parliamentary election is counted first. After that, the votes for the municipal election are counted and, finally, the votes for the county council election. About ten days after Election Day it is usually possible to publish the final results of the county council elections. For the European Parliament election, the final results are usually ready at the end of the week following the election.
The final vote count can also be followed as it happens on the Election Authority website www.val.se.
